Philly Osteopathic COVID-19 Update

Philly Osteopathic was created to serve your health. This remains the number one priority, and will be the guiding principle for all decision-making now and in the future. In order to protect your health and mine, I received both doses of the COVID vaccine this winter. Additionally, the following policies have been in effect since March 2020:

Masks: Anyone entering the office will be required to wear a face mask covering their nose and mouth for the duration of their visit. I will also be wearing a KN95 mask at all times.

Cleaning procedures: No sheets or blankets will be used on the treatment table. The vinyl cover, and all patient contact surfaces will be wiped down with antiseptic wipes after each treatment. Patients are strongly encouraged to clean their hands with hand sanitizer and/or soap and water on arrival to the office. I will continue to thoroughly wash my hands before and after each visit, and use hand sanitizer before initiating a treatment.

Cancellations: Please do not come to the office If you have a fever, cough, or other symptom of infectious disease; have known contact with someone who is sick; are at high risk of illness complications; or have any other concerns. There will be no charge or penalty for any appointment cancelled at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start time. Appointments can be cancelled/rescheduled at any time on the patient portal, or by emailing info@phillyosteopathic.com, or calling 215-792-6161.

House calls: Until further notice, Dr. Blum will not be doing home visits.

I know that there is a lot of anxiety as we move through this uncertain terrain. I am personally drawing inspiration from movements for disability justice and lessons from ACT UP and survivors of the AIDS epidemic. There is so much wisdom already in our communities, and together we’re going to learn even more about how to take care of ourselves and each other.
